To learn more about the use of the Lap-Band procedure as performed at the Crown Valley Outpatient Surgical Center, feel free to call us directly to set up an appointment to see one of our trusted, board-certified weight loss doctors or surgeons.
At your initial evaluation, you will be able to talk with your surgeon about what to expect from the Lap-Band procedure and discover how it can help you to lose weight effectively. Leading up to your surgery, you’ll learn more about how to prepare your body for the Lap-Band and what is expected of you in terms of recovery and follow-up visits that are designed to track your progress.
You can feel safe leading up to your Lap-Band surgery with the knowledge that the procedure has been approved by the FDA since 2001. Additionally, Orange County’s Crown Valley Outpatient Surgical Center is fully equipped to successfully and safely complete every procedure that we offer, armed with experienced surgeons and a trained, trusted, and reliable medical staff.
During the surgery, your surgeon will use a minimally-invasive technique to place an adjustable, bio-compatible band around the upper portion of your stomach. A few weeks later, after you have experienced some recovery from the initial surgery, your doctor will inject saline through an access port in order to tighten the band. You will continue to receive monitoring and care as your doctor adjusts the saline amount according to how you feel and how your weight loss is progressing.
You will lose weight gradually over the next several months as long as you follow your doctor’s guidelines regarding food intake and physical activity. Eating too much can hinder your process and cause illness, so it is
important to treat the Lap-Band surgery performed at our Orange County center as more than just a helpful procedure. It is the beginning of a new lifestyle change that will give you a head start toward a healthier you. As you become accustomed to eating smaller portions, your lifestyle changes will get easier. Fortunately, you will not be undergoing the process alone. At any point during your weight loss process, you can feel free to contact our office with any questions or concerns. We also recommend that you share your experience with trusted friends of family members for the extra support.
How do I start?
You will need to schedule an initial consultation and evaluation with one of our board-certified surgeons. Generally, you might be a good fit for the Lap-Band surgery in Orange County if your body mass index (BMI) is 40 or higher, or if you have health issues as a result of your weight, such as hypertension or diabetes. Your consultation will also include a review of your health history. If your surgeon determines that a Lap-Band procedure will be best for you, then you will schedule your surgery date through our office. You will be given information regarding the details of the procedure, when you can expect to see results, and the steps you will need to take to recover and heal safely and with as little pain as possible. One of our administrators will provide you with some necessary paperwork, such as consent forms and billing information.
Why should I go with an outpatient center for my surgery?
Outpatient surgical centers are a great option for patients who do not require intensive and invasive surgeries. For your lap band surgery in Orange County, you can get all of the quality care that you would receive at a hospital in a smaller, more comfortable facility. The best part about an outpatient facility is that you do not need to spend the night in loneliness and discomfort. Instead, you get released to go home after a brief recovery in our center. Then you can finish your recovery in the comfort of your own home with the help of loved ones.

The morning admittance gal who was friendly , knowledgeable and put my nervousness about surgery at ease helped me fill out the necessary forms for surgery. The next nurse prepped me for surgery and explained what would be happening. Again, very personable, organized, and knowledgeableAnother nurse came over and told me she would be helping the doctor in surgery and again explained what was going on. Friendly The orthopedic surgeon came in and spine to me about the surgery also kind and caring. Then surgery was over and I was again met with a kind nurse to help me adjust to waking up. This may all sound very routine to who ever reads this but surgery is Not, routine and it is damm scary to the patient and their families.
